Faux Real Reprise // cd wedding favors

You may have heard tell of these awesome wedding favors when my sister Hannah got married last summer... I have finally taken some photos of the stack for my website and thought I'd share them!

For those of you who didn't catch it, Hannah and Alex recorded three of their favorite cover songs (doing all of the instrumentals, vocals, and arranging themselves) as gifts to hand out at their wedding last September. I designed eight different album covers using photos of them (from this silly shoot) and collaged little "faux real" worlds around them.

The favors were a huge hit at the reception, and we printed each album cover 12"x12" to hang in Hannah and Alex's livingroom. Tiny confession: I still listen to their rendition of Our Lips are Sealed whenever I'm having a tough Monday. :) Scroll to the bottom of this post to hear the tunes again...

More Than Words { the album }

If you'll forgive the brutal indoor lighting, I'm happy to present Hannah and Alex's Wedding Album. It's a visual testimonial that spans the last year... the Proposal, the Engagement photos, the Bridal Shower and Rehearsal Dinner (and invites), the Bach Parties, the Untamed Vows and the Celebration as well as the Faux Real photos and album art and even their Anniversary Snow Photos. December to December, to be exact. Compiling and formatting it felt so satisfying, as I feel that photos can sometimes tell a story better than mere words can. Yum.

And then there was a party. Food, drink, candy, and chaos ensued... the perfect end to the perfect day.

* Faux Real * { Hannah & Alex PART 2: the vows}

It's hard to describe how it felt seeing Hannah and Alex, two old Oak Hills kids, reunite under the familiar old oak tree at the heart of our neighborhood. What I loved most about the ceremony was how natural the entire thing felt. They were both there under the tree to greet guests as they arrived, bikers went past, kids' soccer games played on, and as the time drew near for the ceremony to begin, the bride shouted at the crowd, "Are we missing anybody?!" The vows that Hannah and Alex wrote were spoken by a dear friend John, and told as though reading an old storybook tale... of two neighborhood kids brought together by the stars and the trees and the friends and family who love them most.

Congratulations to my gorgeous sister and brand spankin' new brother in law!!
