Touch of Genius // Hannah & Alex Xmas Movie III

Hannah and Alex have done it again, folks. This year's very merry mystery is a fast-talking Noir, jam-packed with murder and mayhem, stunning Portland vistas, mistaken identities, and a heartfelt and romantic holiday duet by my favorite dynamic duo. Stick around for some hilarious outtakes at the end, where you can glimpse the full-color, green screen magic and all manner of behind-the-scenes silliness. Writing, music, singing, visual effects, and acting by my beautiful twin sis and brilliant brother-in-law (As well as some stunning cameos by their talented buddies, Shola, Howie, Christian, and John)!

Scroll on to check out some killer photo stills from the holiday premiere, taken by the globe-trotting, dress-making whiz, Riot Siren (Caitlin), or start watching Act I below. Visit their Vimeo page to see all three acts in HD, as well as their previous holiday hit, which took place in outer space...

Thank you, Hannah and Alex... the holidays are always merrier thanks to your touch of (evil) genius.

Feathers & Fog // katie & nate

Walking into the Headlands Center for the Arts was like falling down a rabbit hole. While the building itself was white and unassuming, the second I stepped foot inside, it was like entering another world. There were hanging paper feathers everywhere, typewriters, applebutter preserves, fuzzy flowers, chipped walls, vintage figurines, cinnamon aromas, and rooms packed with treasures. Even the bride and groom seemed like they were from a different time and place. Vampires? maybe. 1940's movie stars? perhaps. Crazy in love? most definitely. I can't thank Katie and Nate enough for allowing me to take part in their own personal wonderland and I hope that my photos convey even an inkling of the magic and creativity that was their wedding day.

Marnie Cobbs // Holiday Shopping Guide #2

In keeping with this holiday shopping spirit, I'd like to recommend another amazing artist to you. Marnie continues to be one of my biggest role models in creative self employment, and I was lucky enough to be hired to help design her website and print materials. She's a book binder, painter, and poet, and basically oozes beauty and creativity in everything that she does. When I look at her work, I feel more connected to the earth and begin to notice more of the colors, textures and beauty around me.
I call it Marnie-Vision.

Marnie is now selling her paintings, cards, and poetry online! I was lucky enough to visit one of her craft shows last weekend, and dashed out the door with a couple dozen beautiful greeting cards with her landscape paintings on them, perfect for family gifts this holiday season.

You can visit the shop here or read more about Marnie on her website here. Scroll on to peek at some of the treats in her shop!
