Canta, Corazón // the party

Remember Karin and Ed? They're my sister Hannah's in-laws, owners of the cuddle-worthy photo albums debuted in a certain forest TGIH shoot a few weeks ago, the same couple approaching 40 years of marriage in the dandy anniversary invitations from a while back.

Suffice it to say their anniversary fiesta was a huge hit, a thrilling celebration of them as a couple, their travels, their children, their friends, and the load of love that has continued to build these forty years since they were married. The party took place at a favorite local restaurant of theirs, Andina, where everyone guzzled pisco sours, tasted tapas, and laughed and danced the night away in South American style.

Hannah and I got a wee bit carried away with the decorations... the travel theme was just too much! We filled my vintage tin collection with Karin's favorite dahlias and cluttered each table with our own vintage maps, books, globes, cameras, and trinkets. The party favor was a mix cd of latin favorites, and every guest signed their name on a framed poster we designed.

Browse on for some marital and party-down inspiration.

"Vinos y amores, los mas viejos son los mejores!" (Wine and lovers, the oldest are the best!)

Gorgeous party. I wish I lived closer to my parents and I would have done something as grand. They just celebrated forty last week.

Kelty and Hannah,

The best party Ed and I have had since our wedding. The decorations, the flowers, the food, the pisco sour's...it was all magnificent, but the best part was the love that we felt from family and friends. The laughter all evening long was an added bonus. I don't remember the last time I laughed so much! Thank you Kelty, Hannah, Alex and Justin for putting on the best 40th wedding anniversary party ever!!

With all our love and appreciation,

Karin and Ed

H&K, So neat to see the fruits of your labor. LOVE IT ALL! You did such a beautiful job. And I can't get over the photo shoot in the forest. It was just as you described in, Han! :)
