Rain Check
{ greg & tara }

I managed to catch this jet-setting couple for a damp hour of engagement photo fun... they've traveled the world together in the last year and it was a thrill to spend a goofy afternoon with them before they set off on their next voyage. One of the things I've always loved about Greg and Tara is their positive outlook on life- their strength, sense of humor and passion... they're the kind of pair who can effortlessly convert buckets of rain and gloom into a bright and sunny adventure.

So this was Take One:

Okay... your talent is ridiculous. I hope I'm in your league one day. Can I be your second shooter when you start getting asked to fly to exotic locations and shoot famous people???

What lens/equipment are you using?

You're too sweet and silly! I have just the basic lens that came with my Nikon D70... 28-80 mm? I'm trying to save up for a good wide angle, a macro, and maybe a flash diffuser since I hate my flash more than anything. I'm clueless about all this and just beginning to read up... I would love some recommendations for any equipment you use and love!

I would say you need to get a fixed portrait lens. I use Canon so I wouldn't know what to recommend with Nikons... BUT... get one that has a low f stop.... like 1/2 to 1/8. In Canons the 50mm is excellent. I'm equally clueless on flashes... something I need to buy this summer for the weddings.
