Fond Farewell { kate & oona }

Before Kate left san francisco for ucla law school, she and Oona spent a lovely afternoon in Golden Gate Park with their dog Tully, enjoying the sun and one another. Both are activists, artists, musicians, and all-around wonderful souls, not to mention one of the sweetest couples I've ever met. Happy upcoming birthday, Oona, and I love you, Kate!

A New York Minute { heajun & dave }

Though it was a brief trip, I was stoked to be flown to NYC to capture Heajun and Dave's wedding reception! They were married in Korea a few weeks prior in front of 700 (!!) guests and used this as a chance to celebrate with those who couldn't make the long trip. Thalassa was an amazing venue for the occasion, and I don't think I've ever seen a better dressed, more loving guest list of family and friends. Their live band provided amazing soul music, the food was scrumptious, the toasts heartwarming, and the dancing totally raucous. Heajun (clad in Phillip Lim) made the classy menu and vendor cards herself and both she and Dave were game for some portraits despite the drizzly forecast. Thank you both for letting me step inside your wonderful world for a day!

Pop, Lock, In Love { khali & potsch }

Khali and Potsch generously traded LA's sunset strip for Portland's woods and antique shops, road-tripping north for their engagement shoot! I wasn't prepared for the energy and humor these two actors brought to the shoot and was staggered by their cheerful wit, humor, and talent. It was almost difficult to approach them for close-ups because I felt like I was intruding on a scene -- they often had full dialogues and took on new characters in each location. They came over for dinner and were non-stop entertainment, but I was surprised to find out what kindred spirits they are! I was so happy to be able to show them a hint of Portland, and hope they'll come back soon to visit.

In addition to their acting, Khali runs a fabulous blog called Boots & Cat Eyes, (she is stunning, and has amazing taste in clothes, music, art, and gift ideas!) Also, they both silk screen the apparel for sale on their shop, Honey B. (some of the messages are pretty silly..) These guys are hilarious and creative souls, and I encourage you to check out their work (and invite them for dinner, too!).
