Cady always brings me things. Little morsels of spicy chocolate, vintage tins, miniature dioramas, hippie chapstick, pencil sharpeners, and lists of things I should be doing. She's the best thrift store shopper around, can recommend 6 amazing pizza places in a 4 block radius all for different reasons, and has a singing laugh and silky hands just begging to be sketched. Will you please be my doctor someday?
Below are some snippets from Cady and Joseph's fascinating, tiny, colorful, cozy flat in the Mission. A few things that got left out: a frog trashcan, little wooden dolls, rusty pitchfork, a closet bed, a tangerine balcony, a painting of someone famous, two bikes, and a stack of scary books. I now need an earring tree.
Enjoy the following three posts brimming with the brilliant Scotti, a best friend of mine and altogether lovely human being.... she's got it all: beauty, brains, and a heart of gold. Plus she puts Heidi Klum to shame-- am I right? This was her first photo shoot ever, and all I can say is that she is a total natural and forgave my awkwardness, crazy ideas, and fear of heights with unparalleled grace and humor. Not to mention the fact that she's got absolutelyno idea how beautiful she is. Scotti, if anything, these pictures serve as proof. I hope you believe me now...
Meet Joanna, one of my favorite people in the entire world. Not only is she a barrel of laughs, but an amazing artist, model, traveler, and story-teller. Not to mention the sassiest of my buddies by far. Don't bother coming to visit unless you smuggle in booze and sailors. Or a king size hershey's bar.
I love the cheeky one with the sunglasses-- you can see Hannah and me laughing in the reflection! The last photo sits usually on her biggest bookshelf- a reminder of her "wild days", as she calls them.
My bombshell of a friend Laura let me follow her around on a sunny morning at Crissy Field. We watched puppies run and play, diving onto picnicking babies and napping couples without thinking twice. Her recent return from Aussieland has spawned many a dinner party, beach excursion, and coffee/beer evening. Welcome home, friend.
Hannah took a big one for the team this last weekend when she hit the desert to pose for Satchel Studio's spring ad... she was sick as a dog and teeters easily when standing atop things like stools even when she's healthy. What a champ. Also snapped a few on the drive back to normal climates.
